Rachel Jacobs
Rachel Jacobs is an artist, curator, lecturer and co-founder of the award winning artist-led company Active Ingredient. Her role as Artistic Director of Active Ingredient has involved creating and managing a large portfolio of interactive media projects and artworks. Active Ingredient was the first international company to win the Nokia Mindtrek Ubimedia Award in 2007 for the internationally renowned project, Heartlands. Their work has been published in academic journals and books and presented at conferences, arts venues and festivals internationally and in the UK. She has curated digital programmes with Q Arts (DCA) and Phoenix Arts, has been a visiting lecturer at Universities in the UK and Brazil and completed an MA in Electronic Arts at Middlesex University in 2006.
Rachel Jacobs is on the board of Mudlark as advisor. Her specialism is in the creative and technical production of mobile phone games and cross-platform interactive experiences, her technical expertise involves working with locative, sensing, mobile technologies and interactive video production.
